Microsoft System Center Data Protection Manager 2007 (DPM) delivers near continuous data protection of Microsoft Exchange and other Windows application and file servers – using disk and tape based backup, with data synchronization up to every 15 minutes and data recovery of Storage Groups and mail databases to within one transaction.

Search & Recover E-Mail in Any Microsoft Exchange EDB
MailRetriever opens any EDB from a DPM recovery point and searches mailboxes, messages, calendars, tasks, notes and folders. The results can be restored to the original location, a recovery folder, or exported to a PST file for portability in just seconds. Browse and search the entire EDB or just a specific mailbox to locate any items (messages, tasks, calendars) and then perform a simple restore.

Perform e-discovery & Output to a PST for Case Analysis
MailRetriever quickly identifies messages related to e-discovery requests. Simply search for messages containing a keyword, phrase or username, and MailRetriever scans the entire EDB for messages that meet the selected criteria. The results can then be exported to a folder or PST which satisfies the “native file format” requirement for legal and compliance e-discovery.

View Individual Messages
With MailRetriever, you can view a message’s contents, including all of its attributes. Additionally, you have access to calendar items, tasks, notes and more.

MailRetriever integrates directly with DPM’s recovery points for fast and easy message-level restores and recovery. Simply select the DPM recovery point, locate your messages with the browse and search utility, and MailRetriever does the rest.
